around had to drive and santa rosa. you can see stoney point road. we are seeing heavier returns here and petaluma heading out toward bennett valley road. we are also seeing some moderate rainfall around the boys hot springs area and some lighter rainfall out toward the fairfield area. it is just beginning to move into the fairfield area. san francisco has now started to see some of the rain. it is coming down. at least moderate rainfall right around a lincoln boulevard and maureen gnaw boulevard and out toward the embarcadero. as you can see, lighter rain around potrero avenue. as we pull out, we do have more moisture working its way toward the bay area. it is going to be coming down during the morning hours. the morning commute does not look good at this point. we are looking at a messy morning ride, and we will see some brief downpours. i will have the exact time you can expect heavy rain in a few minutes. dan? >>> the rain-soaked soil proved to be too unstable to keep this tree upright. sky 7hd shows you the mess it created at central park on el camino real. it shows the massive c

. it was keeping you ahead of the storm. here is what the storm brought, an inch in santa rosa and 1.19 in sonoma county. san francisco over an inch and oakland picked up .89. a third of an inch in concord and san jose and livermore just over half an inch. the fog has formed and look at the visibility. it is just over a mile in half moon bay. three miles in santa rosa and novato. we are looking at poor visibility around livermore and the napa area, 7 to eight miles there. in the morning the fog may be dense in pockets. you will want to give yourself extra time. the temperatures will be falling, and it will be a chilly start. we will be back with the numbers and a look at your weekend in a few minutes. >> chilly, but dry. >> a portion of highway 1 is closed because of a rock slide. it hit the road between fort ross and meyers grade roads just north of generaller there. you can see it on the map. the debris is gone, but you can see the damage to highway 1. a small section has collapsed. cal trans hopes to have the road open again by noontime tomorrow. >>> more road troubles. there is progress, but

inches in santa rosa. three inches in mounted st. helena. san francisco inch and a half and lesser amounts as you head towards the santa clara valley. let's take a look at the five day storm totals. three storms moved in here. you can see mount st. helena, close to 13 inches. santa rosa, close to 8 inches as well as san rafael. san francisco close to 4 inches. oakland close to 4 inches and san jose racked up close to 2 1/2 inches. as you mentioned, another system is headed for the bay area, not as strong. we'll take a look at the timing coming up. >> a scary situation in pescadero. fire crews had to rescue two drivers who's cars got caught on flooded highway 101. it caught maybe many people off guard due to the sudden rise of water. heavy rain is being blamed for an accident that injured four people. three of them are from the fire district. we do want to a warn you. some of the video may be intense for some viewers. >> you can hear the crunch of an out of control vehicle making impact followed by moments of confusion. then screams for help from firefighters kelly morse. she was on

rain up around santa rosa, perhaps as far south as san rafael. notice 5 to 7:00 a.m. we see the rain remaining in the north bay. don't expect to drop down below the golden gate. as a matter of fact it break up a little bit. 80's of rain early morning hours as we continue now to about 9:00 o'clock tomorrow morning. we see it retreat ago bit farther north back up to around santa rosa and points north of santa rosa so for virtually all the morning hours the rain will be confined to the north bay. now we take it up to 11:00 o'clock in the morning. drop south again perhaps down to napa and san rafael but again in the down below the golden gate or if i point south of that. so looks like mainly north bay event for tomorrow morning. does not look like all the bay area get rainfall however another wave coming on wednesday i'll show you what we can expect from that a little bit later. >> just what we need. spencer thanks very much. >> again spencer says more rain expected this week so be sure to stay with us for continuing storm watch coverage. we really take this very seriously and c

40's in the north bay valley. santa rosa and napa. we have upper 40's to lo's right around the bay. chilly overnight period. move on to the forecast feature chilly overnight with patchy valley fog cold in a few spots. sunny weekend with milder weather on sunday and cooler by midweek next week check out the low down to 35 santa rosa 36 napa 37 at fairfield not too wide spread and location is closer to the bay and coast. see low in the mid 40's overnight tonight. on we go to the satellite radar composite image that show as very large ridge of high pressure taking control of the weather picture next several days. this will give us milder weather through the weaned and into early next wee week. move along with our forecast animation 11:00 o'clock tonight. fog will chicken and spread through the central valley then spill in through the delta carquinez strait into pockets in our interior valley and east bay north bay so that's why we see some patchy fog over night. but again not wide sprae. tomorrow afternoon mainly sunny skies. a little milder. high pressure in the south bay.

rain up north sonoma county around santa rosa and healdsburg see now it's more wide spread and moving slowly to the south and to the east. rainfall total 24 hours not so impressive anywhere yet really. no rain fall recorded in parts of the east bay south bay on the peninsula up in the north bay 16 hundredths at mount saint helena quarter inch at warm springs dam. at 5:00 o'clock wet for the morning commute. fwhet all areas at that time but 7:00 o'clock we will sea a lean of pretty heavy rainfall developing through the central part of the bay i can't remember sweeping east south later morning hours then into the midday hours. finally in the afternoon we see the heavy rain beginning to push to the south and east breaking up light showers with remain dear of the bay area remain dear of the afternoon. look ahead what is after that when to expect to see drying in a few minutes. >> thanks. gentleman santa cruz mountains public work crew are racing to fix a major problem left over from the last series of storms before this next one hits that spencer is talking about. we are referring
